More than 10,000 participants expected to participate in the annual breast cancer run/walk.

Miami, Fla., May 1, 2017 – On your mark, get set, go! The Susan G. Komen® Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Race for the Cure®, Miami’s largest outdoor breast cancer awareness event, is back and ready to celebrate 22 years of racing and saving lives locally on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

The Race raises much needed funding for local breast health education, treatment and services, as well as for breast cancer research for the Komen National Research Program. The event is expected to draw more than 10,000 participants and will take place at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami.

This year, TeamFootWorks, a locally renounced running management company, will be producing the Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Race for the Cure®. TeamFootWorks has been around for almost 50 years, most notably known for their South Miami store, FootWorks.

“We look forward to working with TeamFootWorks,” says Sherri Martens-Curtis, Board President of Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. “They have an outstanding reputation in our community for producing events and we feel our renewed collaboration will benefit all who support this year’s Race.”

Race for the Cure Registration is set to open online in the beginning of May. For more information on how to get involved, please visit www.komenmiaftl.org or call (954) 909-0454.
