Local Resources

Thanks to your support, Susan G. Komen® Miami/Ft. Lauderdale has funded nearly $408,000 this year (April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020) to 13 diverse organizations including not-for-profit health care organizations, public health agencies and community groups in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties that further the Komen mission!

These projects have been selected by our independent Grant Review Panel as those that will have the greatest impact in serving uninsured or underinsured individuals in our service area. Please note that Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale is not a direct service provider and does not provide financial support directly to individuals. Instead, we partner with local, community-based organizations that are experts in providing breast cancer care and support for individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

Below is a comprehensive list of local breast cancer resources for Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. To receive services from one of our grantees, please contact the applicable organization, or reach out to us at 954-909-0454 or info@komenmiaftl.organd we would be happy to put you in contact with the applicable resource in your area.

Komen Treatment Assistance Program

Susan G. Komen® Miami/Fort Lauderdale is proud to offer assistance to those struggling with the financial burden of breast cancer treatment through the KomenMiami/Fort Lauderdale Treatment Assistance Program. This program bridges the gap for underserved individuals who are actively undergoing breast cancer treatment. With this program, we aim to help those who are facing financial challenges by providing limited financial assistance, education and support services to low-income, underinsured or uninsured breast cancer patients throughout the Komen Miami/Fort Lauderdale in the counties of Broward, Miami, and Monroe service area. Financial assistance is available for breast cancer treatment expenses such as oral pain medication, anti-nausea medication, oral chemotherapy/hormone therapy, child care/elder care, transportation to and from treatment, lymphedema care and supplies and durable medical equipment.

Funding through this program helps patients of any age who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, at any stage of the disease. Financial assistance is granted to patients who meet predetermined eligibility criteria.
